Homeslice launches Fire & Friends chef series

Brothers Mark and Alan Wogan, co-founders of pizza group Homeslice, have announced the start of a monthly series of dinners hosted by guest chefs at the group’s site in Neal’s Yard.

The venue, located in Covent Garden will reopen on Monday 14 September, kicking off the new Fire & Friends series with Michelin-starred Chef Lee Westcott.

Westcott will appear for three nights from Thursday 24 September, followed by Neil Rankin (of Symplicity Foods) in October; further chefs are to be announced in due course.

Each event will feature dishes cooked in Homeslice’s wood-fired ovens and their recently launched range of sauces.

Westcott’s menu, priced at £50 per person, with an additional £30 wine flight available, will include three courses (as well as a bread and petit fours course).

The full menu includes:

  • Grilled Carlingford oyster, Homeslice’s jalapeño salsa and fermented wild garlic
  • IPA sourdough served with whipped Marmite butter and roasted yeast
  • Wood-fired beetroot, blackberry, smoked cream and fennel pollen
  • Roasted spatchcock quail, grilled courgettes, tomatoes and chamomile and seasonal greens
  • Damson, Sichuan pepper, rapeseed and fig leaf

Westcott was previously head chef at critically acclaimed restaurant Pensons and plans to open his own restaurant in 2021.
