D&D London announces children's free meals support

D&D London, the restaurant group founded by David Loewi and Des Gunewardena (pictured left to right), has revealed its plans to help provide free meals for children this half term.

The group's four flagship restaurants will join hordes of other hospitality businesses pledging their support for footballer Marcus Rashford and his efforts to combat the government's decision to stop children's free school meals during the holidays.

D&D will work in partnership with local councils and The Felix Project, preparing and providing hundreds of meals for local families in need.

Bluebird Chelsea
Working closely with The Felix Project, and led by Alexander and Björck’s head chef Henry Osborn, Bluebird Chelsea will be preparing 100 freshly cooked meals daily to half term programmes including holiday and youth clubs, food banks and community projects. Alongside this, the restaurant is also working with local primary schools and St John’s Church to deliver 50 meals per day, directly to people’s homes.

Radici, Islington
Francesco Mazzei and his kitchen brigade will also be working with The Felix Project to deliver 50 meals from Radici to programmes and schools including Lea Valley and Hackney Marsh Adventure Playground.

German Gymnasium, Kings Cross
Also in collaboration with The Felix Project, Kings Cross restaurant German Gymnasium will prepare 150 meals on Thursday and Friday this week.

20 Stories, Manchester
Back in Rashford’s home city, 20 Stories will be joining other local businesses to provide 200 meals to programmes helping those in need.
