Campari Group UK Expands its Aperitivo Offering with Non-Alcoholic, Italian Aperitivo

Crodino, the Italian non-alcoholic Aperitivo, is launching in the UK – marking the start of summer, and Campari Group UK’s entrance into the no-and-low alcohol category.

Available nationwide across bars and restaurants at a RRP of £5, this bittersweet serve caters to the growing consumer demand for no-and-low alcohol drinks; 61% of consumers intend to discover new no-and-low alcohol brands in 2021[1]as the no-and-low alcohol category continues to go from strength to strength. This represents a huge growth opportunity for pubs and bars, with both volume and value growing ahead of the total market – up 38.6% and 39% respectively pre-lockdown.[2]

Crodino has a surprisingly complex botanical profile, and a deep Italian heritage, stretching over fifty years since its creation in 1965. Its signature taste remains unchanged; the sparkling drink today continues to respect the original recipe featuring a blend of 15 high-quality spices, herbs, and roots sourced from around the world. At the heart of Crodino’s aroma and complex flavour profile are renowned ingredients including Nutmeg, Coriander Seeds, Clove Buds and Cardamom. Crodino is simple to serve – chilled over ice, in a long-stemmed wine glass, and garnished with a slice of fresh orange.

Crodino embodies the art of the Italian Aperitivo; a daily feature of the Italian lifestyle and a ‘Rituale Italiano’ that brings quality taste and quality company together to whet the appetite ahead of a meal. This moment symbolises the end of the working day, the start of the evening ahead and the possibilities it may bring - and with more than 75% of no-and-low-alcohol consumption taking place during happy hour, commuting time and the evening,[3] Crodino is the perfect choice for this Italian Aperitivo moment. To further elevate this occasion, Crodino can be perfectly paired with a variety of deliciously simple, light bites.

Golden yellow in colour, Crodino launches in a ready-to-serve, iconic bottle format (17.5cl), with design features including the branded watermark that pay tribute to its authentic heritage and the Italian art of Aperitivo.

The launch of Crodino in the UK is supported by a multi-channel marketing campaign - digital and social amplification, a media partnership, experiential and PR. Titled ‘Surprisingly Crodino’, the campaign plays with modernity and energetic creativity to introduce Crodino to the non-alcoholic category.

Brad Madigan, Managing Director of Campari Group UK said: “With the Aperitivo moment growing in popularity in the UK, we are thrilled to introduce Crodino to our iconic Aperitivo portfolio alongside Aperol and Campari. We recognise the evolving needs of our consumers and the demand for non-alcoholic options, and are proud to continue inviting them into the sociable nature of Italian culture with an authentic Italian, non-alcoholic Aperitivo – first created in 1965, that can be enjoyed without compromising on taste or experience.”

Crodino is available in restaurants and bars across the UK at an RRP of £5. For more information, follow @crodino.uk on Instagram or visit www.crodino.com.
