KIBOU to open in Solihull

KIBOU Japanese Kitchen & Bar is advancing its expansion plans with the opening of a fourth site in Solihull, a town in the west Midlands, this spring.

The premium-casual operator successfully launched a new site in Clifton, Bristol, in October, on top of existing venues in Battersea and Cheltenham.

The restaurant's interior design will emanate the streets of Tokyo, adorned with trademark frieze panel murals and projector animations, created by Gloucestershire artist, Martyna Sabadasz, and set against the backdrop of Japanese block print textiles and wallcoverings. On top of the 70-cover restaurant and bar, the venue will have a 25-cover Japanese-inspired terrace where guests can dine beneath a canopy of golden acers.

The menu will centre on KIBOU's signature sushi rolls, including the famous volcano roll with salmon, avocado and tobiko futomaki, tempura fried and served with house sauce. Traditional favourites such as hand-pressed nigiri and sashimi will also be available.

Additionally, diners may choose to tuck into ramen bowls made with pork, chicken or vegan broth; crispy tempura, including softshell crab; steamed bao buns; and handmade gyoza with a variety of fillings.

The standalone bar will serve signature Japanese-inspired cocktails, no-and-low options and a range of Japanese whisky, sake, umeshi, beers and highballs.

On the new launch, Sam Horswill, operations director at KIBOU Restaurants, comments: "We are very much looking forward to bringing our vibrant and contemporary slice of Japan to the West Midlands and to being part of the bustling and historic town of Solihull."
