Brother Marcus confirms Borough Yards opening date

Eastern Mediterranean all-day restaurant concept Brother Marcus has confirmed a 7 March opening date for its newly developed Borough Yards venue.

Tasos Gaitanos, co-founder of the brand, will merge his traditional family recipes with the restaurant's fresh, seasonal approach to cooking.

The new venue will offer the same menu as the brand's existing Balham and Camden Passage sites, including the popular sharing plates and brunch offerings, as well as coffees and homemade baked goods, moving onto small plates, cocktails and wine in the evening.

New dishes to the Borough Yards site include scallops with anchovy butter, coriander cream and crispy capers; Aleppo seared king prawns with garlic butter and caramelised kasundi; BBQ pork skewers with labneh and hazelnut dukkha; and kataifi lamb croquettes with garlic yoghurt and burnt harissa butter.

Brunch favourites include sweet potato fritters and shakshuka; while a number of sweet treats – such as honey bombs with pistachio and chocolate, Metaxa and date sticky toffee pudding, and pistachio baklava with Greek yoghurt and honey ice cream – will also be offered.

The space itself will seat 90 indoors, as well as 16 outside. The venue features a robata grill, encompassed within Mediterranean-style stonewashed walls adorned with warm, earthy colours.
