Chef Tom Kitchin launching new restaurant

Chef Tom Kitchin and his wife Michaela will open a new restaurant concept this spring.

KORA by Tom Kitchin is coming to Edinburgh's Bruntsfield area later this season, celebrating produce from Scotland's land and sea.

The restaurant will be the latest instalment from the team behind some of the city's most popular venues, including The Kitchin, The Scran & Scallie and The Bonnie Badger in Gullane. KORA will take over a site previously held by French bistro Southside Scran, which was forced to close in 2020 due to flooding.

The name 'KORA', known in Greek mythology as the 'Goddess of spring, flowers and vegetation', symbolises the chef's deep-rooted passion for seasonal cooking. Working alongside local farmers and foragers, growers and sustainable suppliers, the restaurant will adopt a 'from nature to plate ethos', with menus set to be revealed in the next few weeks.

The venue will offer a stylish bar area as well as a 65 cover dining space. It will also create several new jobs within the city, including front-of-house, bar and chef roles.

"I am thrilled to bring some great news to Edinburgh by introducing a new dining venue to the city," says chef Kitchin. "We are looking forward to bringing our Bruntsfield property back to life with a new concept, creating a genuine neighbourhood restaurant with a real sense of community."
