Ma Petite Jamaica takes over former Cottons site

Ma Petite Jamaica, known for being London's first Caribbean diner, is taking over the Shoreditch site formerly held by Cottons, bringing the group's estate across the capital to a total of two venues. 

With Cottons relocating to a site on Hoxton Square, Ma Petite Jamaica will build on the success of its existing Camden site with the new Shoreditch venue. The outpost will give Londoners the chance to enjoy the brand's Caribbean cuisine, signature rum-filled cocktails and bottomless brunch. 

The Jerk Pitt & Reggae Bar will offer small plates such as jerk wings; sweet potato and pumpkin fritters with coconut coulis and chilli jam; and spicy buttermilk chicken tenders. Mains include curried goat with rice 'n' peas; jerk salmon with sweet potato and pumpkin mash, jerk sauce and callaloo; and red stripe chicken with basmati rice and plantain. Sharing platters, rotis and wraps will also be offered, along with pork, chicken, bream and veggies straight from the jerk pit. 

The brand's three-course bottomless brunch takes place every Saturday, offering two hours of unlimited rum punch tropica-style or Prosecco. 

Cocktails are intgeral to Ma Petite Jamaica's offering, with the menu including the Rumapolitan with Santa Teresa claro rum, peach schnapps, Cointreau, lime juice and cranberry juice; the Killer Doppi, with four different types of rum mixed wuth apricot liqueur, blue curacao, orange, pineapple and lime juice; or a classic piña colada. 

Serving the capital since 2015, the new opening represents the first in the brand's ciry-wide expansion.
