Tom Sellers opens new Seven Dials restaurant
Story Cellar, the second restaurant venture from chef Tom Sellers, has now opened in Neal’s Yard, Covent Garden. The 1,700sq ft Parisian-inspired restaurant has appointed Stephen Naylor as head chef. The venue specialises in rotisserie chicken and offers an expansive wine programme.
Story Cellar is a continuation of Sellers' first restaurant, the Michelin-starred Restaurant Story, and features a concise menu of house-cured charcuterie and classic dishes interpreted by Sellers. Highlights include a terrine of the season, Carlingford oysters and a Restaurant Story favourite: snail bolognese on toast with parsley butter. A selection of shellfish and pasta dishes also feature, such as mussels in ‘story’ cider, crab linguine and preserved Meyer lemon and green olive pappardelle, as well as grass-fed ‘blue grey’ beef with sirloin, rib of beef and t-bone for two from the grill.
Offering 50 covers, guests can choose to dine beside the walk-in wine cellars, or at the counter-style seating that looks out onto Seven Dials’ iconic Neal’s Yard.
The opening of Story Cellar follows the recent announcement that Crudo Cevicheria, London’s first build-your-own cevicheria, is set to open in Seven Dials later this year. Located at 36 Monmouth Street, Crudo Cevicheria will bring to life its experimental menu with ceviche-inspired flavours, in its 362 sq ft space spanning two floors. These two new arrivals add to a series of foodie openings in 2022, including boutique gelateria ANITA, Danish bakery Ole & Steen, and brand-new dining concept St Martin’s House.
