Le Cordon Bleu to host a week of IWD events

To mark International Women’s Day (IWD) on 8 March, Le Cordon Bleu London and CORD Restaurant are hosting a week-long celebration of women’s excellence in food and hospitality.
IWD celebrates the achievements of women around the world, and Le Cordon Bleu London is shining a light on the contributions of women shaping the culinary and hospitality industries. These include acclaimed chefs, Le Cordon Bleu master chefs and entrepreneurs. Next month, guests can experience this first-hand through a series of exceptional events including interactive workshops and exclusive dining experiences.
3–7 March: Celebrated Dessert by Namita Gambhir and Teresa Andras
From 3 to 7 March, visitors to Café Le Cordon Bleu and CORD Café can try a limited-edition dessert created by Namita Gambhir and Teresa Andras, pastry chefs and alumni of Le Cordon Bleu.
The Péché Mignon is a petit gateau decorated in blue and white, reminiscent of the Damier motif used in the kitchens at Le Cordon Bleu. It is adorned with a chocolate Cordon Bleu seal and miniature chef’s hat and features intricate layers of lychee, raspberry and rose.
4 March: Workshop with head pâtisserie chef Julie Walsh
Le Cordon Bleu London’s head pâtisserie chef Julie Walsh will lead an exclusive workshop where participants will create Baba Sabrina – a plated dessert inspired by a key moment in the institute’s 130-year history.
This jasmine-infused yeast cake with wild strawberry and lime cream pays homage to the 1954 classic film Sabrina, in which Audrey Hepburn’s character studies at Le Cordon Bleu Paris. For £130pp, this immersive experience offers a hands-on opportunity to learn from one of the school’s most celebrated female chefs.
7 March: IWD dinner at CORD Restaurant
CORD Restaurant will host an exclusive five-course dinner crafted by an all-female team of distinguished professional chefs on Friday, 7 March.
CORD’s head chef Justine Bordet will be joined by chef-patron Elien Verhulst and head pastry chef Jenny Cheung, whose experience spans Dinner by Heston and the Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park. Each course will be paired with wines selected by Jiachen Lu, CORD’s award-winning head sommelier and Le Cordon Bleu alumna.
The five-course menu is priced at £96 per person, with optional wine pairing for an additional £55. Reservations can be made here.
