MEATliquor operator returns to profit
Meatailer, the parent company of smash burger brand MEATliquor, has reported a profit of £118,000 for the year ended 30 June 2024, coming back from a pre-tax loss of £65,000 in 2023.
In the group's annual financial report, recently filed on Companies House, directors note that the estate comprised a total of eight venues nationwide, following one restaurant closure during the period and no new openings.
Onwards and upwards
The company saw an annual turnover of £15,247,000 (period ended 25 June 2023: £13,615,000), with EBITDA for the period standing at £709,000 (25 June 2023: £470,000), resulting in £118,000 profit before taxation (25 June 2023: -£65,000).
The group delivered a cash balance at period end of £1,360,000 (25 June 2023: -£1,819,000) and net cash at period end of £544,000 (25 June 2023: -£969,000).
"The company will continue to adapt its trading to deliver ongoing profitability of the existing group of restaurants and look to take advantage of property market opportunities in order to open further restaurants across the UK," notes the report.
The Scott Collins-founded business will establish a new sports bar concept, BLOODsports, in Covent Garden this year, with Portsmouth-born coffee house Hideout Coffee launching in the same location.
