The Standard to host Pecking House pop-up
The Standard, London, is set to welcome New York City's cult fried chicken joint Pecking House for an extended pop-up.
From 31 July to 14 September, Pecking House will bring its chilli oil-slicked fried chicken to the hotel’s restaurant and bar, Double Standard.
About Pecking House
Founded by Eric Huang, a Queens native and former sous chef at Eleven Madison Park, Pecking House started as a passion project during the pandemic shutdown. Drawing on his Taiwanese-American heritage and family history in the restaurant business, Huang transformed his uncle's Queens eatery into a platform for Chinese-American fried chicken.
The concept began as a delivery-only pop-up during the pandemic, amassing a waitlist of over 10,000 people by early 2021.
This pop-up will be the first time Pecking House's signature Chili Fried Chicken will be available in London. The menu will also feature a Chinatown Chicken Sandwich with smoky mayo and pork floss, alongside side dishes, vegan options and a coconut rice pudding to finish.
