Sticks'n'Sushi revenue exceeds £86m

Danish-Japanese restaurant group Sticks'n'Sushi has announced its financial results for the period from 16 January 2024 to 31 December 2024, reporting total revenue of £86.8m and adjusted EBITDA of £6.6m.

Several sales records were broken throughout the period, including all-time highs on New Year's Eve 2024 and Valentine's Day 2025.

It was a year of transformational change for the group, with the estate expanding to 30 restaurants following new openings in Richmond, Islington and Battersea Power Station, as well as three catering and delivery kitchens. Venues across the UK, Denmark and Germany delivered sales growth throughout the year and have carried this momentum into 2025.

The Valby restaurant underwent a complete refurbishment, the group's first since 2021, as well as the launch of a new brand website in the latter part of the year. This has been supplemented with the continuing development of the group's loyalty programme 'Frequent Fisher'.

Forecast for 2025

This year, Sticks'n'Sushi has evolved into a true multichannel proposition. Alongside the dine-in offering, delivery and takeaway continue to grow across all three geographies, while the B2B catering business is experiencing rapid acceleration, up 37% year-to-date.

Group CEO Andreas Karlsson comments: "I am tremendously proud of the progress we have made and our many achievements over the last 18 months. We opened three new restaurants and, in the process, created almost 200 new jobs, on top of which we launched a breakfast offering and continued to deliver an outstanding level of service and food quality in the like-for-like estate.

"Supporting the dine-in sales, the team have also grown our B2B catering sales, demonstrating the quality of our proposition across all occasions," he adds. "We also launched our first major menu refresh in over three years in October 2024. All of this is only possible thanks to the incredible passion and hard work of our 1,400 team members across Denmark, the UK and Germany.

"The first year under McWin's ownership has been a productive one. We are well placed to extend our presence across the UK and Europe with Glasgow opening later this year and further openings anticipated in 2026 in the north of England and Europe, bringing an affordable premium experience to many more guests in the coming years."
