Gaucho unveils high-protein menu
Argentine steak restaurant Gaucho has launched a brand-new high-protein set menu, tailored for fitness enthusiasts, gym-goers and health-conscious diners.
According to recent research, interest in high-protein diets is rising. Searches for ‘high-protein’ have more than doubled, up 105% since last year, while ‘protein-rich’ is up by 85%, and ‘natural protein’ has seen a 20% increase. Social media is a major driver behind this trend, with nearly half (47%) of Gen Zs turning to platforms like Instagram and TikTok for protein-focused food inspiration.
Protein-rich dishes
Gaucho’s new menu caters to this growing demand, offering dishes that are protein-rich and low in carbohydrates. All dishes have been designed to refuel and repair, balancing macros with nutrient absorption and maximum flavour. The set menu is available now, priced at £26.50 for two courses or £29.50 for three.
Guests can start with protein-dense dishes such as tuna tartare, beef tartare or Gaucho-cured smoked salmon. Mains include the restaurant’s leanest steak cut, grilled chicken or salmon fillet, or a vegetarian egg white frittata.
For dessert, a bowl of Greek yoghurt with berries rounds out the meal. Sides include nutrient-rich options such as grilled tenderstem broccoli, a crisp green salad or sautéed spinach. All dishes are served with a key, clearly noting how much protein can be found in each plate.
“We know more people than ever are mindful about what they eat, but they still want to enjoy great food in beautiful settings,” says marketing and sales director Mark Sansom. “This menu was designed for those who are looking for high-quality, high-protein meals that don’t skimp on flavour. Whether it’s post-workout or part of a clean eating routine, we’ve created something that ticks all the boxes.”
