Restaurants Against Hunger returns
Hundreds of UK restaurants have joined forces to tackle global hunger through the 2025 Restaurants Against Hunger campaign. Led by humanitarian charity Action Against Hunger, the initiative runs until 31 October.
Participating venues invite diners to add an optional £1 to their bills, with the campaign raising over £4.4m since its launch. Funds go directly to Action Against Hunger’s vital work in 56 countries, supporting communities in crisis through nutrition, food security and emergency response programmes.
Mobilising hospitality to fight hunger
The campaign builds on partnerships with household names, including Hawksmoor, Azumi Restaurant Group, Bagatelle London and Chez Lui, Club Mexicana, Tao Group Hospitality, Fazenda, The Libertine (Incipio Group) and more, from Michelin-starred institutions to independent bistros.
"Partnering with Restaurants Against Hunger has a real, tangible impact on people facing malnutrition," says Hawksmoor co-founder Will Beckett. "I've seen Action Against Hunger's work first-hand with my co-founder in places like Liberia and Lebanon, supporting malnourished children and refugees with dignity and care.
"Customers and staff alike want to be part of something meaningful," he adds. "They want to know their restaurant is doing its part to make a difference.
"That's why I urge any restaurant that wants to give back to join the Restaurants Against Hunger campaign. We come back to it every year because we always start the year asking ourselves how we can do something good. It just feels right to help those who don't have enough to eat.
In addition to the £1 bill donation, many partners run their own fundraisers, from special menu items to cookbook sales, with all proceeds supporting Action Against Hunger's work to respond where the need is greatest.
