Kricket launches Breakfast Thali
Kricket has announced the launch of a £15 Breakfast Thali, set to land at its all-day café-bar venue in Shoreditch on 20 October to align with Diwali.
To celebrate the launch, Kricket is offering the first 30 Breakfast Thalis ordered each day from 20 to 31 October free of charge, whether via booking or walk-in.
An Indian-inspired breakfast at Kricket
At the centre of the Breakfast Thali spread sits the guest's choice of fluffy pao (a soft Indian bread roll) filled with options including crispy bacon and tangy tomato chutney, a spicy Goan sausage with salli potatoes or a classic fried egg cooked sunny-side-up.
Complementing the pao is a curated assortment of Kricket's signature dishes. Guests can expect a hearty helping of eggs bhurji (melt-in-the-mouth spiced scrambled egg), accompanied by Kricket's spin on breakfast classics, including crispy Andhra has browns, grilled mushrooms and a tamarind brown chutney. A side of chole adds comforting spice, finishing with a silky vanilla shrikhand, traditionally a herder's breakfast in Gurjarati and Marathi cultures, served with homemade granola, blackberries and a seasonal fruit salad.
Each Breakfast Thali includes a cup of Kricket's signature Masala Chai, an aromatic drink freshly brewed every morning.
Will Bowlby, co-founder and executive chef at the group, comments: "We're passionate about our breakfast menu, but it's hard to convince people to change their routine. The Breakfast Thali solves that; it's the best way to try everything in one sitting. It lets the food do the talking, and once people get a proper taste of the variety here, we know they'll be back."
