SOOM brings Korean BBQ culture to Covent Garden

A new Korean BBQ restaurant, the latest concept from the team behind 3KOBROS, will open at 99 St Martin's Lane in November.

SOOM will celebrate the communal spirit of Korean BBQ, where guests gather around the grill to cook and share a selection of premium meats and seasonal vegetables.

The interior blends traditional Korean aesthetics with a contemporary lens. Each premium stone table is fitted with a concealed electric BBQ grill.

At the heart of the main floor is the SOOM feature table – a circular, 12-seat centrepiece. Above it is a dramatic ceiling sculpture, paying tribute to Hanok architecture, using layered wooden elements and soft, flowing curves to create a sense of movement, warmth and natural light.

The ground-floor bar showcases handcrafted elements such as Goryeo celadon vases, a glowing hanji-wrapped bar counter and a mother-of-pearl artwork depicting a serene Korean landscape.

SOOM's private dining room is a U-shaped space, surrounding guests with in-wash inspired landscape panels, while the traditional Korean mother-of-pearl folding screen is showcased in the basement dining hall.

Dining at SOOM

Alongside the BBQ experience, the menu will feature a range of traditional and contemporary Korean dishes, catering to all dietary requirements, including vegetarian, vegan and halal options.

To finish, guests can choose from a concise dessert menu that nods to Korean traditions and modern favourites, complemented by a drinks list featuring soju, Korean-inspired cocktails, teas and non-alcoholic choices.
