Hoppers to open fourth site in Shoreditch

Sri Lankan restaurant brand Hoppers will open the doors to its fourth London site early next year.

The latest venue from the Karan Gokani business will be in Tea Building in Shoreditch. Its opening will mark 10 years since the launch of its Soho original.

At Hoppers Shoreditch, the team will look beyond Sri Lanka to the regions that have long influenced much of their cooking, the southern states of India. The new menu explores five culinary heartlands from the country: Chettinad, Madurai, Bangalore, Kochi and Chennai.

Guests can expect to find all the Hoppers favourites alongside brand-new regional dishes from these five key regions.

"This opening marks a very exciting new chapter for us," says Gokani. "Over the past decade, Sri Lanka has been at the heart of what we do but our Indian heritage and journeys through South India have opened up a world of flavours, traditions and stories that have greatly inspired us.

"At Shoreditch, we will celebrate many of the lesser known regions and dishes of South India while continuing to connect the dots between Lanka and India in a way that feels fresh, vibrant and deeply personal."

A refreshed bar programme complements the regional focus, drawing inspiration from the drinks and café culture of South India.
