Freak Scene to be reimagined into Freak Momma

Chef Scott Hallsworth – the operator behind Freak Scene and Kuroyoko – is transforming Freak Scene Parsons Green into Freak Momma.

According to Hallsworth (pictured), Freak Momma "takes Freak Scene’s rebellious streak and cranks it up to eleven".

The space will become a self-styled Japanese "super-diner that is loud, brash and dripping with big sauce energy". The founder says it will be "a chaotic collision of Tokyo izakaya spirit and classic diner indulgence".

The menu will feature Singapore Butter Ribs (£12), Sashimi Tacos (£9) and Cheeseburger Spring Rolls (£10), sitting alongside the Freak Momma Burger (£16) and the Izakaya Smash (£12), loaded with barbecue onions and liquid miso-cheese sauce.

Desserts include a Pecan Pie Sundae (£9) or the Elvis Toast (£9), which is made of fried cinnamon shokupan stacked with peanut butter mousse, blueberry jam, whipped banana crème and crispy pancetta.

Before his current businesses. Hallsworth was known for his time at Nobu London, where he rose to head chef before launching Kurobuta and later Freak Scene.

Freak Momma opens on Tuesday 11 November 2025.
