India Bistro concept to make UK debut

Hospitality investment company AVT Capital has partnered with Foodlink Global Restaurants (UAE and India) to bring its India Bistro concept to the UK for the first time. 

The first UK restaurant will be located in Leeds in the suburb of Chapel Allerton, after the UK-based AVT Capital took a 4,150 sq ft venue on Harrogate Road. The Shubhangi Thaker-led business has invested £1.2m into the project.

Following the Leeds opening ahead of the festive season, AVT plans to expand the India Bistro brand throughout the country, with a second restaurant planned for London in 2026.

India Bistro's vision is to "set new standards in modern Indian dining on a global stage" by complementing the flavours and traditions of India with modern presentation and state-of-the-art techniques.

Foodlink Global Restaurants

Founded in 2003 by Sanjay Vazirani, Foodlink Global Restaurants has grown significantly over the years, expanding across regions. The group was recently behind the catering operation for the Ambani family wedding and has also showcased its India Bistro concept at high-profile international events, including Abu Dhabi’s Formula 1 Grand Prix.

Menus have been curated to offer a unique India Bistro experience for UK diners, featuring iconic dishes and local favourites from north India and beyond, with all celebrating regional diversity.

Today, it operates 30 outlets across India and the UAE.

Building and fit out works on the Leeds restaurant are underway and India Bistro is expected to open its doors ahead of the festive season.
