Flat Iron to give away 300 steaks at new Piccadilly site
On Wednesday 25 March, steak restaurant brand Flat Iron will be giving away 300 Wagyu steaks to mark the opening of its latest site.
Flat Iron in London's Piccadilly will open on Thursday 26 March. The 100-cover restaurant will be located on Denman Street, close to its original Soho restaurant, which opened in 2012.
"It's been 13 years since opening the first Flat Iron just around the corner on Soho’s Beak Street," says Flat Iron’s head of beef Fred Smith. "Since then, we have taken our remarkable steak to more guests up and down the country."
What the expect
As in all Flat Iron restaurants, the menu will be led by the flat iron steak, a cut sourced from the feather blade. A rotating board of blackboard specials will also feature Wagyu daily specials and a Green Chilli Cheese Burger, made using beef from the Flat Iron herd in Thirsk, Yorkshire. Sides will include beef dripping chips, bone marrow mash, creamed spinach and truffled macaroni cheese.
The drinks menu will offer a handpicked selection of wines, including Flat Iron’s own Malbec, blended by the team using grapes derived from the Limoux region in southern France’s Languedoc.
