Dumbo to open second site in Soho

Dumbo, the French smashburger brand, will open its second UK location at 37 Berwick Street, Soho.

The follow-up to its London debut arrives just over a year after it launched its first UK restaurant in Shoreditch in June 2025.

The Berwick Street site, part of the Shaftesbury Capital estate, is a 550 sq ft space.

"We’ve always had an eye on Soho," say Charles Ganem and Samuel Nataf, who founded Dumbo in Paris in 2019. "We did a collab with fellow lovers of modern American food Rita’s earlier this year, and that only enthused us more to be part of the neighbourhood.

"Our smashburgers are designed to be delicious above all else, using only the best produce and accessible to everyone. People who come to Soho will absolutely get that, and we cannot wait to open for them."

Shaftesbury activity 

Dumbo Soho is the latest in a long line of restaurants to have joined the neighbourhood in recent years. On Berwick Street, Shaftesbury Capital has introduced pizza by the slice from Breadstall and hand-rolled sushi at Saltwater, with the likes of pasta brand Padella opening on Kingly Street and Ria’s Detroit-style pizza on Foubert’s Place.

This news also follows the announcement of Darjeeling Express’ relocation from Kingly Court to Rupert Street.
