Luna to host first Eurosummer series event

Luna, a wine bar, bistro and bottle shop located in Shad Thames, will host the first session of its Eurosummer series this month.

The programme from the sister site of Legare is a series of Sunday kitchen and bar takeovers celebrating the best of Europe’s epicurean traditions.

The series will kick off on 30 August with a focus on Spain’s Andalusia region, returning in September for an event revolving around the Greek Cyclades islands.

Based around convivial, slow-paced dining, the business says these Sunday sessions will explore a different region through curated food and drink menus inspired by its culinary traditions.

Andalusia up first

Taking place between 12pm and 4pm on 30 August, the first Eurosummer session will focus on southern Spain’s Andalusia region, an area renowned for its tapas culture and fortified sherry wines.

The sharing menu at Luna will revolve around staples such as Gilda; Gambas al Ajilo; Cheese with figs and sherry honey; and lighter plates of Escalivada with anchovy; and Chilled courgette soup with feta. Heartier dishes of Ox tongue skewers with espelette pepper; and Marinated octopus will follow; with Churros to finish. 

Curated by general manager and sommelier Alex Mammone, the wine menu will showcase wines from across Spain.
