Brother Marcus coming to Borough Yards in Spring

All-day Mediterranean eatery Brother Marcus will open a third site at the newly developed Borough Yards next Spring. 

Launched by three friends – Alex, Arthur and Tasos – in 2016, Brother Marcus already has sites in Spitalfields Market and Camden Passage in Angel. Brother Marcus joins Barrafina, Butchies and Vinoteca at Borough Yards. 

The new site will serve the brand's most popular dishes and cocktails, alongside some that will be new and exclusive to the venue. The menu includes brunch, backed goods and a variety of small plates.

Merging co-founder Tasos’ traditional family recipes with Brother Marcus’ fresh and seasonal approach, the new site will bring the flavours and recipes of the Eastern Mediterranean to south London. With Borough Market across the street, the restaurant’s guests will be served food made with the freshest ingredients and produce bought direct from the market. 

New and unique to the Borough Yards location will be a robata grill which will see more grilled meats, fish and veggies added to the menu alongside classics such as sweet potato, courgette and feta fritters with avocado; harissa eggs with British rainbow chard; fennel tzatziki with Aleppo chilli; homemade fluffy pita with z’atar; lamb kofta with celeriac purée & pine nuts; fried cauliflower with kassundi, mint crumb & promegrante and fiery prawn saganaki with Israeli couscous, feta & Urfa chilli.

Favourite puddings will also be making an appearance, including the honey bombs with pistachio and sea salt chocolate and pistachio baklava with homemade Greek yoghurt and honey ice cream.  

The wine list will focus on Greek wines with a few offerings from other European countries and cocktails will combine seasonal flavours with Mediterranean ingredients such as the Ampelia with Tsikoudia, Verjus and vermouth.

The space, which can seat 90 indoors and 16 outside, will feature an open kitchen and mix industrial elements taken from its surrounding with a contemporary Mediterranean style.
