Pizza Express launches spring menu

Yesterday (22 March), high street chain Pizza Express introduced its 2022 spring menu, which includes the national rollout of its vegan garlic butter, as well as a range of brand-new dishes centred on seasonality and freshness.

New launches include the Romana garlic prawn pizza; the Romana vegan mezze with smoky chilli-chargrilled veg, spicy harissa, fresh rocket and houmous; and a vegan-friendly starter of baked garlic mushroom topped with a vegan mozzarella alternative, pine kernals and balsamic dressing.

The popular Leggera pizza – a lighter, healthier dish with a salad-filled hole in the middle – has also had a recipe refresh. The new pizza and salad recipes offer the same taste as the Romana pizza but with a third of the calories. New Leggara pizzas include Pomodoro, garlic prawn and quattro verdure.

Baby plum tomatoes, fresh baby spinach and rocket are widely featured on the menu, while the new vegan nourish bowl offers mixed grains, garlic tenderstem broccoli, roasted peppers, baby spinach, cucumber, artichokes and houmous.

New desserts have also been added, including Sicilian lemonade and white chocolate roulade, olive oil and blood orange ripple gelato, stracciatella gelato and vegan watermelon sorbet.

The brand's new drink additions include naturally pink apple juice, the pornstar martini and Campari Negroni.
