Marugame Udon celebrates new opening

Marugame Udon is continuing to expand across the UK capital, opening its latest flagship site in London's Oxford Circus on Sunday 18 September.

Following five successful launches across the city, Marugame Udon's newest launch is situated on Argyll Street, in one of London's busiest shopping quarters.

The 5,756sq ft restaurant will offer 125 covers, including new click-and-collect kiosks for those seeking the brand's hand-made udon on-the-go. Positioned next door to the London Palladium, the restaurant is set over two floors and is the brand's largest UK venue to date.

Diners can expect an open-style kitchen and a menu including the traditional kama age and the popular chicken katsu curry udon. Tempura and omusubi will be available as sides, while guests can also enjoy the 'build your own' condiment station with fresh chillies, ginger and Japanese sauces.

All Marugame udon noodles are made fresh in-house throughout the day, using three simple ingredients: wheat, salt and water. The brand's traditional recipe creates a chewier 'mochi mochi' texture of the Sanuki-style thick udon noodle.

Keith Bird, CEO of Marugame Udon, comments: “We’re so excited to be opening our second flagship in Oxford Circus, it’s such an energetic and buzzing area and we can’t wait to bring Marugame into the heart of central London. Our new casual dining concept will fit perfectly into the liveliness of the area to give diners freshly prepared restaurant cuisine with a fast-food time.”
