Popular Mexican restaurant coming to Newington Green

Mexican restaurant and bar Mezcalito will open in Newington Green next month, with the new site following the brand's success in its Chelsea branch.

The food offering will be much the same within the brand's newest venue, including a range of tacos, quesadillas, burritos and small plates.

Dishes include the Mexican bao – a fusion dish that includes a bao bun filled with either chicken tinga or pulled pork carnita; beef deshebrada tacos with four-hour braised pulled beef marinated in a smoky salsa, with sweet potato purée, Pico de Gallo, chipotle and jalapeño; and Camaron Al Ajillo quesadillas, with king prawn cooked in a guajillo chilli and garlic sauce, served with salsa roja.

The venue will also offer over 250 agave spirits and a cocktail list called 'Visit Mexico through Cocktails'. These tequila and mezcal-based tipples are inspired by 10 Mexican destinations, made with ingredients specific to each region.
