Wagamama to open new flagship site at Battersea Powerstation

Wagamama will open a brand-new flagship venue at Battersea Power Station in London on Monday 17 April.

The new restaurant will serve the brand's signature dishes, including rice bowls, noodles, curries and a menu which offers 50% plant-based dishes.

After an eight-year restoration process, the Grade II listed Power Station opened its doors to the public for the first time in history in October 2022. The London landmark is now home to over 100 shops, bars, restaurants, 254 apartments, offices and leisure venues.

Located on Prospect Way, directly outside the Power Station and the new Zone 1 Battersea Power Station Underground station, the restaurant has capacity for 150 covers. Open seven days a week, the venue will create 75 new jobs, bringing Wagamama’s estate to 157 restaurants across the UK.

Overseeing the grand opening are long-standing employees, general manager Anastasia Kozinova and head chef Diara Blahima, who, collectively, have worked at Wagamama for three decades.

Kozinova says of the opening: "We are so excited to open the doors to our brand-new flagship restaurant in such an iconic part of London. Our benches will soon be welcoming the community of Battersea alongside those travelling to the historic Power Station for a destination visit and we can’t wait to serve up some of our fresh favourites to all. Our fantastic new team have been working hard to ensure we can bring our much-loved wagamama service to the people of Battersea and they are so excited to land in their beautiful new restaurant once works are complete."

Hoping to engage with the wider local community, the brand is teaming up with World Heart Beat – a Battersea and Wandsworth-based charity working closely with schools and community organisations in Nine Elms, whose goal is to transform the lives of young people through music.
