National Burger Awards 2024 to include Freakshake Challenge

An exciting new element to the 2024 National Burger Awards has been announced, with finalists being given the chance to compete in a brand-new Freakshake Challenge. 

Entries to the upcoming competition close on 31 December, with submissions flying in from hospitality and street food businesses all over the UK. With multiple prizes up for grabs – including National Burger of the Year, Burger Chef of the Year and Plant-Based Burger of the Year – the 16 competitors will also have the chance to face-off in a Freakshake round that will coincide with the live burger cook-off. The winner of the challenge, which is sponsored by Horlick's, will then claim the Freakshake of the Year title. 

Now in its 10th year, the event will take place at London's Big Penny Social on 20 February. Freakshake recipes must be submitted alongside a signature burger entry by 31 December. To enter the 2024 competition, click here.
