UBA coming to Shoreditch in April
A new Pan-Asian dining concept is coming to Shoreditch on 2 April.
The team behind Soho's Sucre and the recently opened CLAP London have now taken on a 275 sq metre space on Great Eastern Street, which forms part of the Hart Shoreditch Hotel. It features a 105-cover restaurant plus a private dining room seating 12.
Interiors are inspired by the culture and mythology of Asia, with a palette featuring the traditionally auspicious colours of red and gold. A statement marble bar with space for 14 diners takes centre stage. Furniture includes velvet banquettes and lava stone tabletops with antique mirrors, decorative lighting, illustrative artwork and Asian ceramics.
F&B at UBA
Executive chef Paul Greening (Aqua Restaurant Group, Novikov, Harrods, Australasia) is behind the menu, taking inspiration from his extensive travels across Asia. Dishes are divided into small sharing plates, sushi and sashimi, dim sum, ramen, Hirata and larger dishes from the robata and teppanyaki. Signature dishes will include spicy salmon tartare with Japanese herbs, salmon roe and nori rice crackers served on an ice plate; Thai-inspired wok-fried monkfish with kaffir lime, sweet chilli and oyster glaze; and an Angus beef gyoza with onion ponzu, tomato miso and a charcoal veil.
The restaurant will be open daily for lunch and dinner, with a bar serving a selection of cocktails, wines and spirits.
Zeev Godik, CEO of Addmind– operator of UBA – comments: "This is our third London restaurant and the new location showcases our commitment to delivering and captivating experiences and genuine hospitality. UBA's Pan-Asian sharing menu, accessible prices and great music reflect its vibrant Shoreditch location.
