Ibérica reveals its Christmas at home plans

Spanish tapas restaurant group Ibérica has launched at-home DIY kits, a tapas delivery service, virtual wine tastings, online parties and hampers as part of its Christmas plans for customers during the pandemic.

Michelin-starred executive chef Nacho Manzano has developed the new offering by taking inspiration from advent in Asturias, where he grew up.

Ibérica has selected its most popular dishes for the home delivery boxes: the spread for two includes a charcuterie of Juan Pedro Domecq, 100% Ibérico bellota ham, Cecina de León, air cured beef, nine ready-to-cook Ibérico ham croquettes (the bestselling menu item at the restaurant) and Pitu chicken rice - all finished with Catalan-style Spanish rice pudding finished with cinnamon (prices start from £55 for two).

Preorders are being encouraged for the Feast Box, which includes tapas of bread and extra virgin olive oil, speciality olives and pan con tomate; followed by charcuterie, salads of anchovy adorned tomatoes, a cheese board of five Spanish cheeses; moving on to dishes of octopus, prawns and the centrepiece of a leg of milk fed lamb. Dessert is a Gloria cheesecake.

Guests can also opt to add store cupboard essentials and artisan produce to their orders launching for nationwide delivery 1 December including Spanish wines, Ibérico pork and chickpeas.

Ibérica has also launched online Christmas parties for those who can’t get together this year.

From £55 guests can pre-book a Zoom event with friends, family or colleagues to enjoy alongside recommended seasonal wines by Ibérica’s sommelier Graziano Cocco and head bartender Nacho Ordiz.

The Spanish operator has also introduced four different hamper collections: the Iconic Hamper filled with classic Spanish products, bottle of Rioja crianza, chorizo and extra virgin olive oil; the Deluxe Hamper with 14 different premium Spanish products including sparkling wines, truffle infused Manchego, hand carved jamon, extra virgin olive oil and anchovies; The Charcuterie Hamper, featuring a selection of cured meats and jamon from Juan Pedro Domecq with a bottle of Alfonso, Oloroso sherry; and the Sweet Treat Hamper, with a combination of a sweet sherry made with Pedro Ximenez and Turrón, a typical traditional Spanish sweet.

Delivery of the restaurant menu is also available from Ibérica's London restaurants within a 2.5-mile radius from Victoria, Farringdon, Marylebone and Canary Wharf branches, while Leeds will operate for delivery Thursday to Sunday.
