Robin Gill announces new dining terrace

Robin and Sarah Gill have announced the opening of a new dining terrace at Bermondsey Larder, the pair's most recent opening in south-east London.

The 46-seater, partially covered terrace (pictured below) will launch on Wednesday 14 April as an extension of Bermondsey Larder, located near Shad Thames, Maltby Street and Borough Market.

Open from Wednesdays through to Sundays, it will serve a terrace menu that will follow the same ethos of the restaurant.

Highlights include new creations such as Farmer Tom’s Welsh lamb, merguez, fennel and potato pie; and Applewood-smoked eel with broad beans, Amalfi lemon and mint. These dishes will sit alongside some classics from Gill, including the truffled Baron Bigod, fig and walnut toast.

“It goes without saying that it's been a tough year for everyone, and so to be able to throw open the doors and get serving again is just a fantastic feeling," the Gills said.

"We’ve been so excited to launch the terrace here at Bermondsey Larder, and the whole team has been working hard to make sure we’re all ready to get going as soon as we can. The restaurant always has been a place to get together, create memories, or memory loss, whatever the case may be – and the terrace will be no different! We can’t wait to welcome you all back.”

Lead by up by Daniele Laera, the bar team has created a selection of new cocktails to enjoy al fresco, including the Clamato, a Bloody Mary seasoned with fresh clams and chilli juice; The Devil’s Tale – a mix of Montelobos mezcal, raspberry and jalapeño purée and lime; and a Thyme and Elderflower Bellini.

The wine list will showcase a selection of natural and biodynamic wines alongside classics, including the team's favourites Rosso di Valtellina by Ar.Pe.pe, Little Bastard by Staffelter Hof, and Cascinaronchi BRUT by Quarticello. Diners can also enjoy chilled bottles of beer and cider whilst the sun sets on the terrace.

At the weekends, Bermondsey Larder will be offering its brand-new brunch menu al fresco, with dishes including smoked and whipped cod brandade; soft boiled hen egg with nori potato chips; and Middlewhite pork belly, Cacklebean egg and beans, all of which can be washed down with a cocktail or housemade kombucha.
