Leeds waterfront to welcome £1m café-bar next spring

Granary Wharf in Leeds will welcome a new £1m waterfront café-bar in spring 2022.

Canal Club hopes to be the city's go-to venue for food, cocktails and live music, with Canal Café offering coffees, 'grab 'n' go' breakfast options and sweet treats. Guests will also be able to book in for a lively bottomless brunch on weekends.

Additional food options include world tapas dishes and light bites such as beet hummus toast, sliders, salt and pepper squid and sweet potato crostini. In terms of drinks, cocktails will be garnished and served in sophisticated glassware, with a cherry blossom ‘tini, served Asian-style with sake and Cointreau, as well as a spicy strawberry and coconut margarita with jalapeño-infused tequila.

A £1m investment has gone into the venue's development, where booths are available throughout and table service is available to all guests. A tropical theme is designed to transport guests straight to a Havana-style club night.

Speaking ahead of the launch, operations director Jade Renner says: "We've put a lot of thought into Canal Club; from how we want it to look to the type of food and drinks we're choosing to serve, no stone has been left unturned. The pandemic gave us time to think about what it is that people are looking for when they socialise now."
