Brixton Village welcomes Le Bab

Kebab restaurant group Le Bab has launched a fourth venue in Brixton.

Located on Coldharbour Lane, Le Bab joins a cluster of shops, cafés and restaurants in the heart of the village. The new 20-seater restaurant will be the group's first outpost in south London, joining the brand's existing sites in Soho, Seven Dials and Shoreditch.

Le Bab Brixton brings the kebab concept to the late-night dining category, offering affordable, ethical and sustainable kebabs to Brixton's local and visitor communities. The venue will serve cocktails and gourmet food throughout the day and into the small hours Thursday–Saturday.

Sharing mezze for the table (from £2.95–£13.95) will include: Turkish–Korean fried chicken, Le Bab hummus with peanut curry pesto and flatbread, organic padron peppers with sexy salt and dirty pork shawarma fries.

Kebabs include 'fried chicken' shish kebab – BBQ free range chicken, southern fried chicken skin, red cabbage slaw, coriander and chilli mayo; the legendary paneer – spiced paneer with fresh beetroot and coconut purée, pickled cucumber, crispy onions, curry mayo and coriander; and the new Impossibly dirty kebab – Impossible Sausage shawarma, sweet chilli relish, house pickes, double-cooked fries and vegan mayo. The menu offers halal and gluten-free alternatives and features regular vegetarian and vegan specials.

The drinks offering includes a concise wine list, gin and tonics, and no- and low-alcohol beers. Cocktails include Negronis, Mangattans, Margaritas, Spritzes and Sours.

Le Bab co-founder Stephen Tozer comments: "We’re incredibly excited by this one – we’ve wanted to be in Brixton for years, and it’s local to me. The site’s been a long time coming as we’ve been working with the structure of the old market building. The design from Angus (Buchanan Studio) is amazing, and we’re so pleased to be able to stay open so late – just as a kebab shop should be! Get ready Brixton!"
