Caravan prepares to launch largest site to date

Antipodean restaurant chain and coffee roastery Caravan is preparing to open its new flagship venue in Covent Garden on Monday 23 October.

Set in a Grade II listed Victorian granary on Drury Lane, the venue will serve breakfast, brunch, lunch, cocktails and dinner. Morning guests can sample the brand's hand-picked single-origin coffees, locally roasted at Caravan's north London roastery.

The brand's globally inspired menu brings a range of bold flavours, with signature dishes including jalapeño cornbread, steamed cod dumplings and chilli salt tofu. New to the Covent Garden branch will be grilled halloumi and braised beans, pan-fried sea bream fillet, split pea dhal, Islands flourless chocolate cake and vanilla pancakes with bay leaf and lemongrass poached pear.

Some signature serves have been created for the launch, including Pacific Rum, a Pacific coast-inspired cocktail available for £5. Christmas specials such as the cranberry and tarragon negroni and white chocolate and coconut milk punch will also be offered.

Caravan co-founder and CEO, Laura Harper-Hinton, comments: "We are so excited to bring Caravan's unique blend of culinary creativity and craft coffee to Covent Garden. As we open the doors to our newest site, we're excited to welcome people from morning all the way through until the night, hosting guests from locals to tourists and sharing our well-travelled menus."
