Pelicana set to open second UK venue in Angel Central

South Korean fried chicken brand Pelicana has signed for a second UK venue, opening in London's Angel Central as part of a move to expand its presence in the UK capital.

Founded in South Korea in 1982, the fried chicken specialists have over 3,000 stores across Asia, Australia, China, Canada and the USA. It is known as one of the first brands to commercialise fried chicken for delivery, cementing the brand's reputation as an integral part of Korean food culture.

The restaurant's range of traditional, vegan and vegtarian dishes focus on four signature flavours: classic crispy, sweet chilli, soy sauce, and volcano.

The new 2,172 sq ft venue in Islington's Angel Central will include a first floor restaurant that seats 80, as well as ground floor unit dedicated to Pelicana's takeaway offering.

Mr Kim, owner of Pelicana, said of the new opening: "Islington's Angel Central is the perfect location to continue our growth within the UK. Pelicana is a brand that delivers great taste and stays true to its roots, and we are confident that Angel Central's shoppers and diners will enjoy our recipes, as we establish ourselves within the Islington community."
