Ed's Easy Diner partners with Hollywood picture

Casual restaurant chain Ed's Easy Diner is partnering with upcoming Hollywood movie, Clifford the Big Red Dog, launching a limited edition menu and screening the film to customers ahead of its official cinema release.

The 1950s-inspired American-style diner will show the film across nine venues in Birminham, Cardiff, York, Norwich, Brighton, Southampton, Nottingham, Cambridge and Cheshire Oaks. While the cinema release is scheduled for 10 December, the brand is set to screen the film on 1 December, with exclusive tickets available to customers who dine at any participating branches this month. Guests can also be in for a chance of winning tickets to the Celebrity Gala Screening in London's Leicester Square.

To mark the film's release and the start of the Christmas period, Ed's will launch The Big Red Menu on 24 November. Dishes are inspired by the restaurant's signature favourites as well as the new family movie, including a festive feast platter of BBQ ribs, tenders, chicken wings, mozzarella sticks, coleslaw, onion rings and fries; and Clifford's Happy Holidays cookie stack will be available for dessert.

Phil Neale, marketing director of Boporan Restaurant Group – who operate the Ed's Easy Diner brand – comments on the partnership: "We are so delighted to be bringing Clifford the Big Red Dog to the UK and to be able to give our customers the chance to be the first to see the film. It's a film that's fun, feel-good and perfect for all the family, which is a natural fit for Ed's and the perfect partnership for the festive period."
