Rishim Sachdeva crowdfunds for permanent restaurant

Vegan chef Rishim Sachdeva will launch a first round of equity crowdfunding at the end of May, pushing for a target of £150k to support permanent London restaurant site plans for his 'mostly vegan' concept, Tendril.

The campaign follows a successful residency for Tendril at Soho's Sun & 13 Cantons – a platform for notable restaurant success stories, such as Sambal Shiok, Sarap and Asma Khan's Darjeeling Express.

The Soho residency attracted positive reviews from customers and critics alike. Sachdeva is known for his creative plant-based dishes, with the menu focusing on fresh, seasonal produce.

Signature dishes at Tendril include tostada with muhamarra, winter squash and chard kimchi; Chinatown purple potatoes with sticky soy and sesame cracker; and chipotle mushroom with BBQ kale, walnut, crispy potato and gremolata.

A selection of non-vegan dishes, such as baked brie with truffle mascarpone, honey and seeded bread, will also be offered.

On the opening of Tendril, Sachdeva comments: "We were blown away by the success of the Sun & 13 Cantons and can't thank everybody who came and supported us enough. We;ve build a real community thus far with Tendril, and I'm now hoping with this crowdfunding that I can finally realise the dream of opening a permanent restaurant home for us in London."
