Marugame Udon to open at Waterloo Station

Marugame Udon continues to grow across London, with its latest kitchen in Waterloo Station opening on Thursday 12 January.

Following seven successful launches across the capital, Marugame Udon’s newest branch is set within the UK’s busiest railway station, giving Londoners and visitors a taste of the brand's hand-made udon noodles.

The 3110sq ft restaurant features 108 covers. The Waterloo site will also be the first Marugame Udon to introduce a breakfast menu, offering a delicious range of udon breakfast specials, sandos and breakfast tempura. Featuring a Japanese twist on traditional breakfast dishes, Marugame Udon will serve up Benedict Udon and Florentine Udon, made up of noodles in a rich hollandaise sauce with a soft poached onsen egg and crispy, streaky bacon making up the Benedict Udon; and wilted spinach for the Florentine. The menu also includes salmon and rice bowls and grab-and-go porridge.

For those who need a quick fix for breakfast, Marugame Udon is also adding exclusive sandos (thick and fluffy Japanese-style sandwiches) to the menu, featuring katsu and bacon, streaky bacon and tamagoyaki egg, Japanese pork sausage and egg, and spinach and miso tofu. With the addition of exclusive breakfast tempura including sausage, bacon and tamagoyaki egg, diners can start their day with Marugame either via dine-in or takeaway.

Keith Bird, CEO of Marugame Udon, comments: "We are really excited to be expanding again in 2022, this time at Waterloo station. We chose the Waterloo site, to be in the centre of the hustle and bustle of London’s largest station to introduce udon to all. Our Udon kitchens are growing throughout London and our casual dining concept will fit perfectly into the liveliness of our newest location in Waterloo."
