Wine Buyers Awards return for 2025

The London Wine Fair’s Wine Buyers Awards, which recognises the UK’s best professional wine buyers, will return to the annual event in 2025.

This year, London Wine Fair is launching a new Sustainable Buyer award category, reflecting how environmental impact is a vital consideration and responsibility across all professional wine buying areas.

Nominations are now open and can be made at winebuyersawards.co.uk. The deadline for entries is 10 January 2025.

The shortlist will be announced at the London Wine Fair launch party on 25 February, and the winners will be announced on Centre Stage on Tuesday 20 May.

The new Sustainable Buyer award will be open to all entrants, with dedicated questions embedded into the existing entry forms for each category. The answers to these questions will influence an entrants’ opportunity to pick up the award for their own category, plus their chance to be titled Sustainable Wine Buyer of the Year.

The judging panel will comprise a dozen industry luminaries including members of the Pub & Bar Magazine team, Dine Out's sister title.

There will now be 11 award categories in total, which comprise, alongside the Sustainable Buyer:

  • Best Off-Trade Wine Buying Team
  • Best On-Trade Wine Buying Team
  • Supermarket & Multiple Wine Buyer
  • Independent Merchant Wine Buyer, single venue
